Our collaborative research focuses on the biggest challenges facing the nation. From our oceans and coasts, landscapes and inland waters, to our atmosphere and climate, CSIRO research is helping to maintain the integrity of our environments and ensure the sustainable use of our natural resources.

We manage collaborative national research infrastructure for the nation including the Marine National Facility, operator of Australia’s dedicated ocean research vessel, RV Investigator. We provide Australian researchers and their international collaborators with access to RV Investigator through fully funded grants of sea time to conduct research of national benefit.
