Inspired by a deep-rooted understanding of the importance of social-ecological systems, Leanne is one of the charity co-founders and current CEO of Project Seagrass. Noting over 20 years of experience immersed in researching marine resource use patterns and sustainability, Leanne’s passion for seagrass was ignited by the realisation that human wellbeing is directly interlinked with this incredible habitat. An interdisciplinary scientist, Leanne is devoted to strategically delivering conservation and restorative action that is evidence based. Her goal is to improve the prospects of the millions of people intricately connected to seagrass ecosystems. In 2023 Leanne was named as one of the BBCs top 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world.
