Rumana Hossain is a Lecturer at SMaRT@UNSW Sydney and a research specialist with experience across a range of waste recycling technologies. Her research interest is to recycle problematic waste which includes plastics, metals and glass-based waste, as well as other waste materials, including low-value plastics, mixed packaging materials, multilayered polymers and textiles waste. Her research focuses on reducing the impact of plastic and other material on the environment, understanding microplastics and to highlight how big the small microplastic problem is in Australia.
