I'm Danielle Ackerly, a third year PhD candidate studying at la Trobe University under Professor Travis Beddoe and Professor Karla Helbig. My research involves finding alternative vaccine solutions for the abalone industry here in Victoria, Australia against a HaHV-1 that causes high mortality rates in some adult abalone species. My research collaborates with abalone farmers across Victoria to help find effective solutions applicable for large-scale aquacultural industries.
