René Campbell is a Policy Officer in the Aquatic Pest and Health Policy Section at the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF). She has helped coordinate, develop, and implement national policy and programs to manage marine pest biosecurity in Australia, including projects in national strategies such as MarinePestPlan 2018-2023 and the National Marine Pest Surveillance Strategy. René has a PhD on invasive European shore crab ecology and an interest in marine bioinvasions. In addition, she is a professional visual artist and scientific illustrator who is passionate about combining art and science.
