- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
I am an experienced cetacean researcher with complimentary knowledge of marine reptiles, seabirds and other surface pelagic fauna. I have been operating for over 25 years in the cetacean research field and also have 15 years’ experience in open ocean surveys as a marine fauna observer. I have completed numerous offshore operations across Australia, New Zealand and the Antarctic in a consulting capacity or on behalf of the Australian government, scientific research institutions, the military and the oil-and-gas industry. I am a certified Marine Mammal Observer in New Zealand and Australia and have experience in marine ecological surveys of temperate subtidal and intertidal reefs. Outside of consultancy, I also manage two citizen science projects associated with recording whale movements along the Victorian coastline. I also have a long history of successful collaborations in developing nations, including the South Pacific, where I hold a membership to the South Pacific Whale Research Consortium.
