Evan Rees is a Senior Aquatic Scientist with the Northern Australia Quarantine Strategy which sits within the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Whilst Evan’s background is primarily in aquatic animal health within the domestic and international aquaculture industry, he has transitioned into focusing on aquatic biosecurity surveillance across northern Australia. Key roles include providing technical support for the Indigenous Ranger Biosecurity Program, specifically involving the early detection surveillance of marine pests and aquatic diseases.
